GraalVM Optimizations
GraalVM (https://www.graalvm.org/) is a high-performance JDK distribution designed to accelerate the execution of applications written in Java and other JVM languages along with support for JavaScript, Ruby, Python, and a number of other popular languages. GraalVM's polyglot capabilities make it possible to mix multiple programming languages in a single application while eliminating foreign language call costs.
Research topics:
- Profile prediction based on machine learning (GraalSP)
- Compiler parameter inference based on machine learning
- Direct heap-object snapshotting (DOSS) and transfer (DHOT)
- Infrastructure and tooling for stable and method-level benchmarking
- Benchmark sets for cloud-native deployments (JASPER)
- AOT-compiled code compression and decompression during execution
- Garbage collection policy optimizations
- Optimization of compiler CFG traversal algorithms
- and more...
